Stefan Schulte elected to lead European airport association

Athens: European airports’ trade association, ACI EUROPE (Airports Council International) yesterday held its General Assembly as part of its 35th Annual Congress and General Assembly, hosted by Athens International Airport in Athens, Greece.
During the General Assembly, Dr Stefan Schulte, CEO of Fraport, was elected to lead the organisation as its President. He succeeds Armando Brunini, CEO of SEA Milan Airports.
Upon his appointment, Dr Schulte said “Airports are vital for Europe's prosperity. A strong ACI EUROPE is essential to ensure that we airports can invest in infrastructure, compete globally, innovate for customer security, and meet climate targets. As the new President of ACI EUROPE, I am committed to championing the vital role airports play in the prosperity of societies and economies across Europe. I will do my utmost to best represent our airport family, from large to small, from hub airports to major city airports to smaller regional airports, while promoting everyone's interests as much as possible”.
During this year’s General Assembly, the following were also appointed to the Board of ACI EUROPE for a first term: Mr David Ciceo, Managing Director, Cluj Avram Iancu International Airport (ROMANIA), Mr Enes Çakmak, Chairman of the Board & Director General of DHMI (TÜRKİYE), Ms Alison FitzGerald, CEO of London City Airport (UNITED KINGDOM), Ms Bettina Ganghofer, CEO of Salzburg Airport (AUSTRIA), Mr Sharon Kedmi, Director General of Israel Airports Authority (ISRAEL), Mr Javier Marin, Executive Vice Chairman of AENA (SPAIN), Mr Philippe Pascal, President of Groupe ADP (FRANCE).
In addition, appointed to the Board for a second term were Mr Abraham Foss, CEO of AVINOR (NORWAY), Mr Yiannis Paraschis, Managing Director of Athens International Airport (GREECE) and Mr Riivo Tuvike, CEO and Chairman of Management Board of Tallinn Airport (ESTONIA).
